ST. LOUIS OF THE FRENCH
– ST. AUGUSTINE – ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE.
We start the tour
with the national church of France, St. Louis of the French
which contains three paintings of the artist: St. Mathew's
Vocation, St. Mathew's Martyrdom, both painted between 1599
and 1600, and St. Mathew with the Angel painted later in 1602.
Inside the church
of St. Augustine, on the altar of the first chapel to the
left, we find the Madonna of Pilgrims dated between 1603 and
1606.
Inside St.
Mary of the People, in the Cerasi chapel, we can admire two
famous paintings: the Conversion of Paul and the Crucifixion
of Peter.
